@themarcjacobs always delivers an amazing, inspiring show. Tonight was an extravaganza of cartoon proportions and tangy colors. The bags were genius. The shoes were wild. Bravo @marcjacobs

Happy Father’s Day to one the smartest, funniest, adventure-loving guys I’ve ever known. I’m sorry to say I didn’t take the time to really get to know my dad very well as a person (as opposed to my parent who was an extension of me and my needs) until he volunteered to pay for The Nicholas & Alexandra tour of St Petersburg, Russia I was dying to go on if he could come with. It was only then, 25 years ago, that I found out his whole life he’d wanted to travel the globe but never had the chance, mostly because my mother hated to travel. In the decades that followed, we had once-in-a-lifetime adventures to Russia (3 times), Ukraine, South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Tanzania and my beloved India. I also got to know my Dad as a person and he turned out to be an incredible guy. I’m particularly grateful for those memories because my dad suffers from dementia and for the most part has no idea what’s going on. He still recognizes my brother and me and lights up when he sees us, which is a joy. My brother visits him almost every day and deserves an award for it. Dad can still recite the starting lineup of the 1947 Anderson Duffy Packers basketball team. He just can’t remember that my mom passed away last year. Anyway, I’m rambling on but I just wanted to celebrate my dad today and I hope you all have the chance to really get to know and love your dads while you have them. It’s something I’ll treasure always.
