🎭 Outdoor theater at the Getty Villa returns this fall with Memnon, a world premiere from The Classical Theatre of Harlem (
@classicalharlem ) and playwright Will Power.
With bold, colorful language and gripping dramatic conflict, Memnon tells the tale of an African king who journeys to the city of Troy to engage in battle during the Trojans’ darkest hour. This epic tale—an actual chapter in the ancient Greek mythological canon—has been forgotten and shoved aside for over a millennium, until now.
