Below is a brief introduction to their projects:⁣ Amsterdam Chinatown Arch by Tian Xia @tiantianya_xia – A reproduction of the Amsterdam Chinatown Arch questions the authenticity of an architectural symbol that is replicated around the world. Old Man of the Sea in a World of Wounds by Jana Uhlig – The rediscovery of a prehistoric fish is narrated through a video installation that draws attention to the role of ‘monster stories’ in times of crisis. Staring at Empty Spaces by Lea Wurthmann @lea.wrth – The image-making process behind the historical Hubble Deep Field image is deconstructed to give insight into the nature of scientific endeavours. The Ebb and Flow of Chinese Female Entrepreneurship by Jiayi Ye – The social and economic impact of the Reform and Opening-up period on Chinese business women since 1978 is explored through a filmed chain-interview.
