Regret can be painful, of course. But this emotion is not dangerous or abnormal, a deviation from the steady path to happiness. It is healthy and universal, an integral part of being human. Tap the link in our bio to read @danielpink ’s advice on how regret makes us better.
Regret is painful because it happens when we realise we ignored the truth

Regret regulates us to re-evaluate. Otherwise we may never learn from the errors of our ways! Love the nuanced reading of regret and its many forms!

I had twins during Covid, I spent time with my daughter during the day, who was in the children’s hospital for 3 months before she passed, and I spent the nights with her brother because I was breast feeding and was not allowed to bring him into the hospital.. I regret not spending nights with her I was not there to comfort her cry’s, and missing his first 3 months during the day, to spend it with her.. it’s painful for me to think about.

It can take decades before you realize the importance of living every single second of your life. When you do this, it’s hard to regret any part of your life.
