Ruth's Table is of course named for Ruth Asawa (it's her table where all the magic of this place happens). And as loose associations go, I got to see the Ruth Asawa exhibit at the Whitney this past week. It’s incredible to see the way Asawa transformed pattern across 2D and 3D media (my fave: Untitled: center tied, six-branched form, galvanized wire, 1963).
