How do you forgive someone who did something awful to your daughter? I've been struggling for years!

I was so upset with that person for my own selfish reasons and I felt I would stand on my feelings, until I seen a movie that touched my heart on forgiveness, after watching it l decided to forgive as I would want God to forgive me and it's a good feeling to release so much anger and replace it with understanding of what another may have had to chose to do. Now I think of my own faults and immediately ask God to forgive me for my wrong done.
