I was so so excited to get this roll of film back because I couldn’t wait to see the swing pictures. I love them. You can almost hear the laughter!

The art of architecture is truly one of my favorite things. I love staring at the lines, curves, angles of buildings. In another life I would’ve been a building. Lolz did you think I was going to say architect?
Since getting back to Philly, I’ve really struggled. I no longer had the excitement of being in a new city to distract me from my own grief. I think there’s also a general depression that comes along with returning to a familiar place where the routines hold you in a way that no longer feels comfortable. What do you do when you want to be somewhere else but it’s not the right time for that just yet? I spent many weeks just painfully sad and unable to really focus. Thankfully, I’m feeling a bit on the other side of that. Still processing loss and still working on being joyful but we’re getting somewhere!
Finally got around to having the film I learned to develop with @queeranalogdarkroom scanned. I’ve been reflecting a lot on my time spent in Berlin. I’ve also been semi tuned in to how the German state is responding to the horrible events taking place in Palestine. It’s wild seeing a government that is historically responsible for this idea of needing a Jewish state over correcting so much that they are further perpetuating violence. Have they truly learned from their vile history? That’s white supremacy, that’s the problem.

Him in German: I don’t speak much English and you can’t touch it. I wasn’t planning on touching it!
In another life, maybe I would have been an architect. As a child, I thought architecture was the perfect career to combine my love of drawing and buildings. I eventually set my sights on other things but I still can’t help but squeal when I come across a beautiful structure. #filmphotography#film#berlin
