OMG, just 3 days to go until my residency at @labiennale @venicebiennaleluxembourg !! (๑>◡<๑) I am immensely proud to present my new performance "Trans Techno Rococo," a 50-minute immersive sound experience! While at the Luxembourg Pavilion at the 60th International Art Exhibition Venice Biennale 2024, I will delve into the aesthetics of digital transcendentalism and rococo opulence.°˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖° The residency programme will culminate in my new performance, presented within the Pavilion for the first time. I will be in residence between 24 and 30 June 2024, with live performances (duration: 50 minutes) in the Pavilion taking place twice daily at 3 PM and 5 PM on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 June. The Pavilion remains publicly accessible during my residency, inviting the public directly into my exploratory process. Je suis très honorée d’avoir été sélectionnée dans deux catégories : Performance et Films d’artiste. Par ailleurs, j’ai également reçu une Mention spéciale pour le territoire des performances ヾ( ˃ᴗ˂ )◞ • *✰ !
Et ce n’est pas tout, j’ai aussi eu la chance de créer une fragrance exclusive avec le @tandem_fragrances , qui sera notamment diffusée dans l’espace de la Galerie durant la Biennale NOVA_XX. Ainsi, l’oeuvre vidéo « Adelphe » (2023) sera diffusée au sein du cinéma tandis je performerai le soir du vernissage, le 16 février 2023, de 18h30 à 21h30, la pièce « Je Selfie donc Je Suis » dans une interaction à la fois numérique et physique, sur Instagram et au Centre Wallonie Bruxelles. Votre présence, qu’elle soit virtuelle ou réelle, rendra cette expérience encore plus enrichissante ପ(๑•ᴗ•๑)ଓ ♡

This residency will culminate in 4 immersive performances brought to life by my avatar, Bisou Magique (Magic Kiss) 茜茜(Qiànqiàn). 🌸 These performances will envelop you in a universe of sound where each note and each silence narrates an aesthetic, philosophical story. 🌟🎶 As I transform recordings of sounds, from hulusi melodies (húlúsī, 葫芦丝) to noises from artificial and natural contexts, into immersive sonic works. This critical process examines power relations, reinterprets collective memories, and poetically reflects on our time. Célin Jiang is a French artist-researcher. Her work is transdisciplinary, political, and infiltrated: it aims to explore the relationship between art, technology, and digital humanities. The decolonial approach of her work is rooted in cyberfeminism. By questioning our perception of identities in a globalised context of transcultural aesthetics, Célin Jiang advocates interoperability and considers hybridisation as a sensitive vector of metamorphosis: how does the dissident potential of artistic expressions operate in the phygital era of social networks? Following Selin Davasse’s residency during the opening week of the Luxembourg pavilion at the 60th International Art Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia, Célin Jiang will continue transforming the Pavilion into a dynamic production space where each artist’s exploration adds to a collective body of work. The work astutely examines the hybridization of the human and the non-human, dissecting the interpretive blur between nature and technology. In deep contemplation, « Adelphe » invites us to meditate on how our bodies, bearing multiple legacies, intertwine with digital technologies in an ongoing dance of embodiment and transformation. Hybridity, as a catalytic force, emerges as the heart of this creation, exploring the intricacies of transculturality and our shared imaginaries.« Adelphe » plunges us into the depths of our ever-changing world, unveiling a polymorphic reality tinged with ancient mythologies and notions of genesis .

Réunir des diasporas autour de la fête, le but semble simple. « Techno Trap »: un labyrinthe numérique captivant et trompeur. 
Cette œuvre vidéo plonge dans le monde des .GIF pour révéler la complexité des avatars féminins humanoïdes « fembots ». Dans leur danse automatisée, ces créations numériques manifestent une synchronicité qui efface toute individualité, soulevant des questions profondes sur l’hypersexualisation et les représentations de genre et de race au sein des humanités numériques. Une ligne bleue nous conduit à travers un paysage virtuel peuplé de corps et de simulations naturelles, nous invitant à explorer l’identité numérique et la créativité sur le web. L’œuvre s’interroge sur le rôle de YouTube et d’autres plateformes dans la création artistique, redéfinissant ainsi les frontières de l’auctorialité. Inspirée par les idées de Seo-Young Chu, « Techno Trap » recycle et réutilise des images du web, leur offrant une nouvelle vie et signification, et nous interpelle sur notre rapport à la technologie et à l’expression artistique.
