what y’all originally got excited for vs. what you get to have now: the pop tart glow up 👏
our pop tarts have come a LONG way. the original tests didn’t have a perfected royal icing recipe yet (i think this was powdered sugar with fruits and rice milk…embarrassing but we started from the bottom now we here), the dough and fillings were itty bitty batches (now it’s…well…let’s just say we are working in VOLUME), we made 1 flavor at a time (now it’s dozens of flavors every wednesday), pastry was hand rolled (now we use a sheeter and get each one to an exact millimeter of thickness), the sizes were inconsistent (we have an standard size tool to cut them out with now), and we used one fork to crimp every edge (now we have a top secret tool we created that maybe we will patent and sell some day when we have time…!)
to those of you who have stuck around while we continue to find ways to make what we make but make it better, thank you. you literally keep crust alive, and you keep the dream of perfection of pastry a reality for us kitchen freaks. for real. we appreciate the hell out of y’all.

when @steadyhandcafe teased that a corn latte was in the works for the pop-up this weekend, we knew right away we needed to make something to go with it. so, when you stop by for a yummy coffee on saturday or sunday, you can pair that bad boy with a 🌽SWEET CORN CAKE SLICE!!!!!!🌽 our classic vanilla cake topped with a sweet corn flavored buttercream, and decorated to look like an ear of corn because who in their right mind would pass up an opportunity for whimsy like that? availaible till they're sold out, but never fear because we are stocked with all sorts of goodies, and open today from 8 till 8! stay corny, y'all!
i waffle a lot on what my favorite loaf we make is, mostly because my own cravings come and go with the seasons, but i do know that at the end of every summer i make a space in my freezer at home for a loaf of strawberry rhubarb bread. 🍓🍓🍓 chunks of strawberry and rhubarb, crunchy muffin topping, the perfect partner to a cup of tea first thing in the morning, she's my summer seasonal favorite. availible (till fall starts peeking around the corner) at so many coffee shops and cafes around the city and at our storefront. open 10 to 6, have a beautiful day!
ahhhh, asmr sounds from the kitchen. the gentle rainfall of chocolate chips, the measuring spoons blowing in the (air conditioner) breeze, the soothing shake of a sprinkle container, nothing but beautiful, pleasing sounds coming out of our kitchen...just kidding, trying to get these videos was a *challenge* since we are the loudest bunch, performing the loudest tasks humanly possible on a day to day basis. if it's not the shouting over the sound of the oven timers, it's the hum of the 60 qt mixers drowning out any and all conversation, to say nothing of how freaking loud the walk in freezer is (iykyk). but we can pretend for a minute! enjoy (esp the guest appearance by sesame at the end). storefront is open 10 till 6 today! love you!!

day 2 of the manyunks arts festival, and we’re ready to fuel you through a nice day of looking at nice things!
we may not be artists in the traditional sense, but we have beautiful snacks like these rainbow soft frosted cookies (glitter dusted, like there’s any other way to make em), easy to grab and enjoy while you walk around looking at the incredible vendors who will be taking over main street. festival is rain or shine, we’re open 8 till 6, and we’re ready to see you! friendly reminder that street closures for the festival are abundant, so if you’re commuting by car, be prepared!

the kombucha is made by our friends at @movementlabs , ask them when a seasonal flavor is gonna run out they will tell you “when the earth tells us” because its hyper seasonal and that speaks to us deeply. we are open 8 till 8!
the smores bar has been a gluten free staple pretty much since the beginning of crust, and she hasn't changed much. a gf gram base, a layer of dandies marshmallows, coated in a chocolate ganache, it was perfect from the start and perfect she remains (once upon a time we did used to cut big dandies in half and carefully layer them in a half sheet pan, but those days are gone and i'll never have to chop and place a million marshmallows again). you can be cool like shaye here and snag one from 8 till 8 today!🪻 ok bye!
IT'S! THE! FIRST! DAY! OF!
