We know it’s Monday —but here are a few happenings at The Contemporary that might excite you. First up, this is the last week to view Studio@’s Artist very own, Diane Hulse’s exhibition, Ebb & Flow in the Elizabeth Denison Hatch Gallery. We’re closed for the holiday on Thursday but come to visit us this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon - 5 pm to see Diane’s incredible work. On Thursday, July 18th, we’re excited to host our Art + Night with the Wilmington Ballet. Inspired by this season’s exhibitions, The Wilmington Ballet brings the art of us to our museum with I AM ART IN MOTION to perform in our galleries. And lastly, on Saturday, July 27th from 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM, we will host open ceramic studios. Feel free to drop in or register. It’s only $50 for the whole day! That's it for now. Sooo excited for this one! This week’s exhibition feature are our very own from this year’s Artist-In-Residence program — Curated by Chase and Morgan, this exhibit features Noel Cross, Cony Madariaga, Nasir Young, and Zifeng Zang. The Artist In Residence Cohort identifies and supports local, emerging artists poised for careers as dedicated artists. Over ten months, these artists engaged in intensive professional development seminars, formal and informal critiques, and practical workshops to prepare for this culminating exhibition which showcases their experimenting, growth, and collective creative accomplishments. It was an incredible year with the four of you and we can’t wait to see what you do next. Thank you for growing here with us at The Contemporary.

Happy Monday! It's time for our next artist and exhibition feature from our summer season, Radius. Jennifer Small (@jensmallart ) and her exhibition, Here and There, curated by Erica Loustau (@erica_loustau ) are featured in the Contemporary’s Lobby Gallery. Jennifer and her work seek to find connections and affinities among the varying images. In this exhibition, she also features a body of work that shares a name with our favorite place, Wilmington. Wilmington is a new home for Jennifer and this section of paintings is made up of observations collected around her home, neighborhood, and local green spaces. This work is vibrant and energetic —don’t miss it in our Lobby Gallery!

We’re so excited to have our Spring exhibiting artist, Sebastienne Mundheim, join us for a performance of movement, puppetry, storytelling, and electric cello —Kea and the Ark, the story of a woman who built an 86-foot long ark as an act of protest, tenacity and imagination. Join us this Saturday, May 18th, for three special performances in the Wings Foundation Auditorium at The Delaware Contemporary. Kids are FREE, and a suggested donation of $20 is welcome for adults who can do so. Please visit our website for tickets and more information.
