"FROSTBITE"
A window of good weather lasting two days: that's how Patagonia welcomed us. Despite spending the first day trekking in the rain, the following day, as we hiked up to Laguna Los Tres to capture the first sunrise, the sky had completely cleared up. I managed to take a nighttime panoramic shot as well (which you'll see later), and then I focused on finding the right composition for a sunrise timelapse. It surely wasn't the most epic and colorful sunrise one could have in a place like Patagonia, but witnessing these landscapes with a clear blue sky was still a unique experience. Shortly after sunrise, when the light was a bit harsher, I took this photo. I had to shoot handheld because I didn't want to risk breaking the thin layer of ice on the foreground, and being so close to the ground, I wouldn't have been able to use a tripod to enhance the ice tips as well.

“Moonscape”
This composite is a reproduction of an old photo that I shot in La Palma back in 2019. The gear, the softwares and my knowledge changed a lot in these years, so I wanted to recreate a similar image but with an “updated” look.
The foreground is the same as the old shot but reprocessed, whereas the sky was replaced with this beautiful Milky Way captured last week in La Palma.
It’s a 35mm tracked single shot and it’s amazing how much more detail you can pull out of the file.
I used the original position of the Milky Way, so even though it’s a composite, it reflects reality.
What do you think of this new edit? I’m particularly interested in hearing feedback on the edit of the sky since I’m approaching new techniques.
