Nothing like jumping into a pool, hand n hand with your kiddo, after a hot run 🎉 . Kara knew her and Todd were going to the pool this morning, but she didn't know I was going to end my run there! #surprise 😮 . She was so excited to see me come through the gate and immediately asked if we could jump in together... You got it girl 😁 . Too bad Todd's phone camera sucks 🤣 but he did get a few shots 🩷 . We came home, ate our weight in watermelon and then got to baking all the things: cauliflower, cookies, tofu, and sweet potatoes. We also made some protein balls and tomato/cucumber salad 🙌 . In-between all of that we got a 4th of July cookie delivery! 🤤 . I love days like today #itsthelittlethings 🥰 . Hello Sunshine, Good Bye June ☀️ . Summer finally hit Peachtree City mid month, with some 98+ days and humidity on the rise. No complaints here since I know it won't last forever #seasons 😜 . Running wise, I ran more miles than I thought 🙃 even though it was less than last month 🏃🏼‍♀️ . I plan on taking a cut back month in July, with no long runs over 10 miles #wishmeluck 😅 . Cycling wise, I've been crushing it 😆 . Patting myself on the back bc I've been super consistent with doing both endurance rides and workouts... Without overdoing it 🙌 . This year is flying by! 6 months on these amazing paths 😍 . I can't believe it's been half a year since we moved 😮 . Time flies when you're having run, I mean fun 😜 . It's been awesome learning all the routes and there are so many more I haven't explored yet! It was, and still is an adjustment with the hills, but they are definitely making me stronger 🏃🏼‍♀️ . We've experienced 3 seasons here so far and I CANNOT wait until Fall 🙌 . The lower humidity, up until this last week has also been a dream!! This place really is a runners paradise 😏 . It's kind of ironic, bc I ran into my first running friend on today's run. I'll forever be grateful for her 💜 . Pool, Poke & Painting 🩷 . We're about halfway through summer and #momcamp is in full force 💁🏼‍♀️ . Yesterday we spent the day at a friend's clubhouse pool. It was one of the hottest days we've had, but btw the waterslide and ice cream, it wasn't that bad 😎 . Let me tell you... Golf carting to the pool is the. way. to. go. As you can see from all the parked carts 😅 . Today we finally got to a Poke place and enjoyed every bite!! I'm so so glad Kara is an adventurous eater and loves poke/sushi. I do wish there was a bit more rice though 🤤 . We also painted with the fish stamp Kara made at Art Camp a few weeks back. She gave me a lesson on how to do it, even though "we didn't have all the right materials." We still had fun and I think it came out pretty good 🙌 . Not every day is a super eventful day, but I try to make some part of it fun/special 🥰 . Terrific Tuesday 🎉 . Grateful that this speedy girl slows down for me 😅 . It warmed up fast (the high today is 97°), but we lucked out with some cooler weather this AM and soaked it up with #milesofsmiles 🏃🏼‍♀️ . Kara was in her leotard and ready for gymnastics when I got home... 6ish hours early 🤣 She was also ready for mom camp 🙌🏼 . We made some pancakes, got our reading in and then headed out for errands on the golf cart 😁 . Peachtree City actually has it's own navigation app that gives you golf cart path directions 💁🏼‍♀️ . And yes, we're still doing the matching earrings 🩷💜 . I love the days that aren't anything special, but turn out pretty terrific 🥰 . #SundayRunday + #SundayFunday 🎉 . Had myself a little fun out there this morning and went a bit longer than I have been lately 🏃🏼‍♀️ . It got warm pretty fast (temp from the end of my run), but thankfully all the shaded paths kept it manageable. I had some pretty legit salt crystals on me at the end 😅 . My average HR (146) and elevation (397 ft) were both a bit higher than I'd like, but I know the heat can do that to you and I did a poor job of planning my route... AKA I had no plan 🤣 . During the summer, I like to loosely track my water intake to make sure I'm getting enough. Generally I already drink a TON, but it never hurts to double check every now and then 😁 . And there's no better way to cool off than in the pool. Catch us here most of the day 💁🏼‍♀️ . I fueled up with Nuun, coffee and a pretzel bun! I know it's random, but they are so easy to keep on hand in the freezer and warm up for a bit pre run 🤤 . One of the hardest parts of moving was the guilt of taking Kara away from her friends 😔 . Most of all, her bestie since kindergarten 🫶🏼 . I know "kids are resilient," but I don't want her to HAVE to be... does that make sense?! 🤷🏼‍♀️ . And I don't want her to have to be bc OF ME!! 🫤 The #momguilt is real. . Thankfully, Kara has thrived here and already made some amazing friends. It's sweet though, bc she always tells her new friends about her BFF in FL 💁🏼‍♀️ . When said BFF's mom text me that they were going to Stone Mountain Park this week (~1.25 away) and invited us to visit, I couldn't say no!! So we packed up and left early to beat ATL traffic #iykyk 😆 . Granted we've seen M twice since we moved, the girls didn't skip a beat! We rode the sky ride + train, played putt putt golf and spent the afternoon in the pool #flgirls 😎 . They had the best time!! It's always hard to leave, but I always remind them, it's not good bye, it's see ya later 🥰 . Being able to keep her connected makes me feel better. Sounds kind of selfish when you "say it out loud," but I'm just doing the best I can 🙈 . Anyways, if you're still reading, thank you 😂 I love this kid more than anything- most of the time 😜- and love that I'm able to do these special things for her ❤️ . OMG this is a novel... It was an eggcelent day 🥰 . Kara knows I'm not chit chatting during my intervals 😅 but she's right there during the recoveries to cheer me on 🎉 . All my running miles right now are easy, so getting my HR up on these cycling workouts feels soooo good 🔥 . Post workout I refueled with some leftover pasta (Kara had a sammie) and we hit the golf cart for some fun! First stop was a park. It was a let down, but we still had some fun 🙌🏼 . Then we made the trek to our egg lady's house. Kara took over my phone and got some fun pictures. It's a beautiful drive 😍 . We had to park Ruby at the dirt road, grabbed a snack and walked to her house. Some of the paths can get bumpy 😬 so with the eggs securely in my lap, I drove carefully home 🤞🏼 . I love days that we fit everything in and get to spend so much time outside! And now we're at gymnastics... Hence the free time to do a post 😆 . Is this for real!?! 😍 . I ran 8 miles, at 8AM, in mid June, finishing in 77° and I didn't sweat through my shorts 🤣 . If you've followed me for any length of time or run with me, you know I'm a SUPER sweaty person 😅 . So to finish a run like that in the summer is 🤯 . The shade and lower humidity makes such a freakin difference!!! I was waking up at 5 when I visited my parents 2 weeks ago and would finish soaked down to my socks 😆 . Don't get me wrong... I know it'll get hotter and more humid the next few months, but man, not having to deal with that for 10/12 months is really nice 😏 . Running with Friends >>>>>>> 🏃🏼‍♀️ . It's been a hot minute since I've gotten in a run with Anna but, we finally made it happen 🎉 . I have no problem doing most of my runs solo, but it's nice to mix it up sometimes and chatty miles always fly by 🏃🏼‍♀️ . We ran 8 yesterday and today I biked inside for an hour 😁 . Then I biked some more outside with Kara 🥰 . We made some stops to hike and play, then came home and made a huge smoothie. Kara wanted it more "tropical" so we didn't add the strawberries, just the pineapple and mango. It was delicious 🤤 . A nice little #momcamp Monday 😎 . It's a Waffle House Father's Day 😜 . The back story: Todd has always wanted to take Kara to a Waffle House bc he went a lot as a kid. Every time we drove up to GA to visit my MIL, before we moved, Todd would say we should stop at one. We never did bc we just wanted to get to our destination 🤪 . So we blindfolded Todd and surprised him with a @wafflehouseofficial "brunch" #happyfathersday 😅 . Todd loved that we finally made time to go 🥰  . We got 2 All Star Specials (waffle, eggs, toast, bacon/ham, grits/hash browns) and a kids waffle 🙌 . We were all happy with the food and definitely left with full bellies 🤤 . Kara asked why there were flies inside and we told her that's part of the experience 🤣 We even went to a new location! . Anyways... One of my running fears happened today... I kicked a squirrel 🙈 . Technically, I think it ran into my shoe, bc it didn't fly forward 🤷🏼‍♀️ but it all happened so fast 😆 . You know when they do that stupid back n forth dance RIGHT in front of you?! Yep. 😒 . The other day I almost busted my butt avoiding one and thankfully I didn't trip today either, but man was I in shock that I actually came in contact with it 😮 .
