We are proud to announce the launch of the TEAM Dad Program at HSCMD!
By Teaching, Empowering, Advocating, and Mentoring (TEAM), this program works with expecting dads and fathers of children age birth to three years to achieve their goal of having a positive impact in their children’s lives. This program provides home visiting services to fathers using the 24/7 Dad evidence-based curriculum and is tailored to meet individual needs.

Today marks @dennisproject last TA workshop with @mdcstudentparents Fatherhood Workgroup. Over the last 2 years, we’ve facilitated with student parents, 12 Dad-centered workshops using the National Fatherhood Initiative: 24/7 Dad curriculum and 8 Moms Understanding Dad workshops.
Next, we’ve engaged Miami-Dade County family serving organizations in 9 capacity building/TA workshops. They have implemented Fatherhood Initiatives or desired to add dad-centered activities.
We’ve covered - checking the pulse of your organization on father-centered engagement, assuring the right people are in the right seats, best practices for recruitment/retention of fathers, various ways to capture impact, and local and national resources for organizations and fathers.
Special thanks to the wonderful organizations that participated: @hscmd , @santlahaitian@citrusfcn@mdcollege ; @affirmingyouth ; @enfamiliainc ; Fathers Stepping Up Fatherhood Program. We look forward to seeing it in action for dads and their families.

🕊️In loving memory of our beloved Vice-President, Paul C. Hunt, who peacefully passed away on Sunday. Paul has been an integral part of the Healthy Start Coalition of Miami-Dade’s Board of Directors for 22 years, contributing significantly to our organization’s growth and impact.
Paul played a pivotal role in the selection committee that appointed our founding Chief Executive Officer, Manuel “Manny” Fermin, in 1991. His dedication continued through to the recent appointment of our Chief Executive Officer, Jeannette “Jinny” Torres, in 2022. His insight, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to our mission have left an indelible mark on our organization and the community we serve.
Those who had the privilege of working with him know that he was a true champion for pregnant women, infants, and families in Miami-Dade. With his significant contribution and passion, Paul was able to touch many lives; especially the ones we serve.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.
We will miss him tremendously!

Today we celebrate Freedom Day, a historic day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates freedom, resilience, and the rich cultural heritage of African Americans.
June 19th marks the anniversary of the arrival of Union troops to Galveston, Texas, in 1865, enforcing the Emancipation Proclamation issued in 1863 and freeing all enslaved persons.
The legacy of #Juneteenth shows the value of never giving up hope in uncertain times but it’s also a reminder that we must continue to pave a path forward.
