Congratulations to Tessa Schwartz, Rex Siu, and Kaori Taylor, this year's recipients of the Kelly-Clyne Summer Internship Grant!
Tessa: "This summer I am interning in development at Vertigo Entertainment, where I will be reading and writing script coverage and researching entertainment industry trends. I am fascinated by the data-driven business decision making involved in film and television, and I am ecstatic for this opportunity to learn more about the creative process behind evaluating source material for production! I am so grateful for this support, and I am looking forward to getting more hands-on experience in this industry!"
Rex: "I’m looking forward to my upcoming internship at Morning View Entertainment, where I will work with my previous mentor, Cindy Tsui, write coverage for scripts, novels, and comics, and help create pitch packages. As an aspiring writer-director, there won't be anything more rewarding than getting paid to read and write, thanks to the generous Kelly-Clyne Grant."
Kaori: "This summer, I am traveling to Nashville, Tennessee as a Digitization Intern for the Fisk Forever digitization project. My passion for the preservation of African-American history has led me to this exciting opportunity to work alongside Fisk archivists and librarians, making the rich history of this HBCU more accessible to the public. As I immerse myself in archival work, I am given the opportunity to improve upon my archival skills, which will no doubt help me in the future as I pursue my dream of becoming a documentarian."

🎬 2024 Senior Capstone Spotlight: EVERGREEN, by Cierra Gladden
On the night of her final Thanksgiving as a college student, a young woman struggles to see eye-to-eye with her mother, sparking an argument that will critically define their relationship from then on.
EVERGREEN engages with the fear of change and the pressure to meet both internal and external expectations. The film grounds these themes within a coming-of-age story centered around a mother-daughter relationship tested by circumstance.
Cierra Gladden wrote, directed, co-produced, and shot EVERGREEN. Graduating with a degree in Film and Media Studies and a minor in Entrepreneurship and Management, Cierra is headed to Los Angeles for an internship post-graduation. She is eager to engage with the culture and history of the city while expanding her creative horizons in screenwriting and filmmaking.

🎬 2024 Senior Capstone Spotlight: COCAINE TO LONDON, by Devin Andrada
As a dysfunctional family punk band completes their first album, the timid and disrespected bassist must choose between continuing to endure the band's emotional abuse or missing out on her best chance for musical success.
Devin Andrada is a screenwriter, director, and storyteller from New Jersey. The pessimist he is, his scripts often explore the negative sides of creating art; the stress, the tension, the unsavory characters. COCAINE TO LONDON, his first official short film, is no exception. After school, he plans on moving to Los Angeles to continue refining his craft and hopefully develop optimism as he maneuvers through the industry.
🎬 2024 Senior Capstone Spotlight: STORMY WEATHER, by John D'cruz
After a triumphant return from her first touring performance, an actress returns to her local Shakespeare reading group only to find that her closest companion has turned cold. To make matters worse, she stole her umbrella! STORMY WEATHER follows two women embroiled in a seemingly meaningless fight as they uncover deeper conflict and emotions underneath the surface.
John D’cruz wrote, directed, and produced STORMY WEATHER. The film came from his fascination with meaningless conflict and shifting sympathies, and unfortunately made him want to pursue screenwriting months before the end of his senior year. After graduation, he’ll be moving to LA to explore a career as a writer, producer, gaffer, assistant director, or really any entertainment field that’ll have him.
