🧌🐍🏴☠️ it has been an undiluted joy to be alongside @mycket as they have stewarded a new part of @arkdesc into existence ahead of the museum’s full reopening in september. their ‘utsikten’ is a quietly bold type of (proto)institutional space – a place of co-creation and an evolving work-in-progress.
MYCKET have a unique perspective on the world – and how we approach art, architecture, and design. their concept of ‘troll vision’ is front and centre, and the vast troll ear that now peeks out from the granite island is a gesture towards the more-than-human, a practice in praise of stories, beautifully queer, and immersed in softer ways of spacemaking.
across a number of moments during the spring an after-school group from Filosofiska grundskolan in Skarpnäck have worked with MYCKET and the teams at ArkDes to build, nurture, and develop an enchanted garden out of materials sourced from the island of skeppsholmen and the museum’s rebuilding work. it’s been a pleasure to have their minds, hands, and hospitality around the museum during this exciting moment in its history. this project represents a portal to another time and possible imminent futures, created not just for children but with them, too.

odd to be reminded of the island of skeppsholmen’s history as a node of the swedish armed forces by way of a glistening blue and gold barge. naval things are hyper gay, everything royal is pure drag, and most things military are queer. 💄🍯
