June. From a lovely medieval themed birthday yesterday for an even lovelier person. Gorgeous summery day and loved all the detail, party was absolutely fabulous! ADD TO PLAYLIST 🎶 When our friend Jacob (aka Honu) requested “Recover” by @xambassadors , we knew we needed to make this one extra special to honor his story.
The incredibly talented @laharpista delivered the most beautiful cover.
While we love speaking with Jacob, we also empathize with how it’s been complicated to adapt to a new life without the voice you’re used to.
Jacob had his tongue removed due to oral cancer and felt like that changed the way people heard him.
It was important to us that he knew that even if he had no voice at all, we hear him loud and clear.
This powerful soundtrack to his story shows that you can express so much power, impact, and love even without words.
But man, when “Honu” adds in his words, it’s a whole other level.
Thank you, Minta, for honoring our beloved Thriver! Jacob, please never forget: together, WE GOT THIS.
