Llike the creators of 1960s “painting objects,” @Robert_William_Moreland creates in the unconventional space between painting and sculpture. He hand stretches each canvas over wood, attaching them with leather hinges and metal tacks, and adds layer upon layer of paint. The visual simplicity of Moreland’s work masks the tedious nature of their creation, which for him, includes multiple days of continuous focus before completion. #RobertMoreland #LibraryStreetCollective

Artist @Jose ́Parlá will open a forthcoming exhibition of a new series of never-before-seen works and a site-specific mural on November 14th at the Pérez Art Museum Miami (@PAMM ). “Homecoming is deeply rooted in my personal journey, shaped by the rich history of my origins. In this new series, each painting is created as an homage to my native home of Miami,” said José Parlá. “By using a process of layering ink, paint, plaster, and collaged posters that were once posted on the city's walls, each painting bears the imprints of the region’s displacement, immigration, adaptation, and the transformation of words into gestures, made using the names of localities, countries, and its peoples. These abstract gestural marks become indelible echoes in the tapestry of historical psychology and geography, serving as a poignant universal narrative.” #JoseParla @franklinsirmans @maritzamelania @fabianasotillo Photo by Lazaro Llanes @parlastudios @reyparla

#JamesBenjmainFranklin 's organically constructed shapes and eclectic textures combine to form a practice that is untethered by limits of the traditional canvas. Pushing the boundaries between painting and sculpture, Franklin expands on the objectness of painting through the use of common industrial materials. #LibraryStreetCollective —— Artwork Details: James Benjamin Franklin, Rift, 2024. A brand-new 𝙄𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙀𝙭𝙚𝙧𝙘𝙞𝙨𝙚 𝙁𝙧𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝘿𝙧𝙖𝙜 piece by artist Jason @_REVOK_ ! Working across wood and shaped canvas, the artist uses spray paint, automotive airbrush, and several personally-designed tools to construct his 𝙄𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙀𝙭𝙚𝙧𝙘𝙞𝙨𝙚 𝙁𝙧𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝘿𝙧𝙖𝙜 series. The physical endurance of a metal frame that can hold up to a dozen aerosol cans simultaneously, which the artist drags across large swaths of canvas in ways that push against his body’s own limits. #JasonREVOK #LibraryStreetCollective

Congratulations to artist @AkeaBrionne on being featured in the latest summer issue of @GalerieMagazine ! Visit the link in bio to read the digital story. Lucy Rees writes: "In essence, her Afro-Surrealist pieces are about identity and relationship to place, or “social geography,” as she calls it. In Brionne’s world, statuesque Black women are depicted against dreamy, unidentified, and often desolate backgrounds. “I explore a lot of ideas surrounding displacement, assimilation, and the preservation and reclamation of ancestral wisdom through storytelling, Surrealism, and world building as a Creole woman,” says Brionne." #AkeaBrionne #LibraryStreetCollective #GalerieMagazine
