UPDATE: We’re SOLD OUT. 🎉
Final call to join @awburyarboretum for their annual Juneteenth Dinner on June 19th. The evening will feature a lineup of events paying tribute to 405 years of history. Enjoy dishes inspired by Black culture, created by local Germantown chef Gail Jones-Hinson.
There will also be a panel discussion on the relevance of Juneteenth with guests including Gwen Ragsdale from @lwfmuseum_ , Cornelia Swinson from @johnsonhhs_ , and local journalist/organizer/filmmaker Cassie Owens. Our very own Rasheed Ajamu, curator of @phreedomjawn and editor for the Germantown Info Hub, will moderate the discussion.
The evening will conclude with a performance by artist and musician @koofibi . The event starts at 5 p.m. at the Francis Cope House at One Awbury Road.
