It's officially pub day, and this weird golem birthday-hat picture is from a snap I found on my camera roll from from 2016. So either I have not matured spiritually and intellectually since 2016 or else this speaks to a great consistency of character.
I've done a lot of being grateful, and I'm gonna keep on at it to say: thanks to everyone who has supported me along the way to publication, especially my #1 fan and one-woman marketing team (my mom @susansmith305 ) thanks to @nupress for making the idea into an object, and thanks to my bunny Grimoire for being the softest most perfect creature in the whole world.
Now go forth and buy my book (if you want to), review my book (but only if you have nice things to say), and come to my launch next Friday so that I can feed you words and cake.
One week from today, I’ll be at @commongroundbooks for my book launch. I’ll be in conversation with @heathertruett , and I’ll probably be a nervous wreck, but the important thing is that I will bring themed!? snacks because no one should have to sit through a fiction reading without a snack in hand. Please come out, if you can—that is, if you want to. If you cosplay, you can 100% dress up like a golem.
Today would have been Sam’s 38th birthday. And I could say a bunch of things, but he was never really a fan of words —too dry, too rigid— unless they made him laugh like hell. Wish I had a good joke to tell. Hope you’re afterlifing wordlessly, with endless music and good food, with unceasing good feeling, with jokes so good you cry & fart 🍻
As of today, THE CURATORS is officially one month from publication. So I thought this might be a good time to share an excerpt, of sorts: my acknowledgment page.
So many people helped me bring this book into the world, and I just want to take up a little virtual space to thank them.
