This gathering is perfect for moms and daughters looking to navigate the journey of puberty together. Your RSVP will include entry, light snacks, bloom goodie bag, and signed copy of the book! There will also be a pop up booth from our sisters @blackmomsmiami and a Pack and Chat activity sponsored by @thebeautyinitative ! While she’s been facilitating these sessions for years with girls at her church, she allowed me to crash and contribute my two cents. When I was 9 and my cycle started, there was SO much I didn’t know. My grandmother even said the sole thing she remembers being told is to “stay away from boys.” My inner child was beaming at the curiosity of these girls and the fact that our dynamic allows me to entertain their musings with honesty and tenderness at the core of our interactions. I’m healed by the information they have in advance… and the fact that they won’t enter a big transition with fear and ignorance looming at every turn. What do you remember about starting your cycle?
