Hi there👋🏼
In October 2020 I was asked to create a photo essay about Las Vegas for the inaugural Live in America Festival, which is celebrating eight communities from across the U.S., its territories, and Mexico as they gather to share and celebrate the power of communities in performance at the Momentary in Northwest Arkansas.
The photo essay comprised of a series of real life moments and hand built clay dioramas based on a mixture of memories from growing up in Las Vegas and from being an adult living in Las Vegas as the pandemic changed the way I engaged with my hometown & community.
I’m not sure what void I’m stepping out of or how it’s already June 2022, but later tonight is the first collaborative performance commencing Live in America, and it happens to be Las Vegas.
I’m thankful we are able to gather and happy to be performing and documenting alongside a group of so many wonderful friends, new and old.
And to reconnecting with so many of y’all back home and beyond.
Even though I haven’t been posting or the best at responding to texts, the opportunities and support with my chosen family and community has been so special & overwhelming at times, especially in these past couple years.
If you’ve made it this far down the post and still want more, link in my bio to see all the participating communities & elements involved.
See you soon✨
