13 Years!
Today I celebrate my 13th Anniversary as a Flight Attendant. I started 6/17/2011 at AirTran Airways. Southwest purchased AirTran Airways and I crossed over to Southwest in August 2014.
It’s been an amazing 13 Years and I’ve finally hit the top of the pay scale!
Starting a trip this morning and can’t wait to share this special day with my crew and passengers.

UPDATE: Showplace Icon Theatre HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED.
The end of an era. It appears the Showplace Icon Theatre at Roosevelt Collection will permanently close tomorrow, June 30th.
A thread was posted on HelloSouthLoop Facebook group this morning about the potential closure. While there hasn’t been an official announcement as of yet, ticket sales are no longer available after June 30th and a few employees have told guests tomorrow is the last day.
The movie Theatre opened at Roosevelt Collection Shops back in December of 2009 to much fanfare. The theatre hosted several movie screenings and celebrity talkbacks throughout the years. I actually met the actor Will Poulter after a screening of The Revenant back in 2015.
Unfortunately the theatre struggled with upkeep after the pandemic and it showed. Most of the seats in the theatre’s looked rough.
It appears the ICON brand has been quietly closing their locations this month and each closed theatre has plans to reopen under a different name.
I’ve heard a few rumors Showplace ICON Theatre at Roosevelt Collection will indeed be reopening under a new name. We’ll just have to wait and see.

My friend and I went for brunch last weekend and had a wonderful time. The food was incredible. I highly recommend the RR Burger and the Fried Chicken Sandwich. And you must try their French Toast Bake.
