An Amelia Earhart mural by @jeks_nc was unveiled at @nwrc_college during @foylemaritime ’s Get Up Street Art Festival in Derry-Londonderry last weekend. The new mural—Northern Ireland’s tallest—commemorates Earhart’s 1932 landing in the city to become the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic. On this day in 1937, Amelia Earhart disappeared over the Pacific Ocean while attempting to become the first female pilot to circumnavigate the globe.
