When Vincent McCoy ’75 responded to a newspaper ad for a small, private meeting of Northwestern’s Gay Liberation Front, he never imagined it would lead to him becoming an outspoken advocate for LGBTQ+ students. McCoy became the first Black president of Northwestern’s Gay Liberation Front, known today as the Northwestern Rainbow Alliance (@nu_rainbowalliance ), helping to grow Northwestern’s inaugural gay rights advocacy group and expand its visibility on campus.

Earlier this month, Edie Howard Bostic ’74 and Kathryn Kimura Mlsna ’74, ’77 JD (’03, ’09, ’12 P) participated in a Reunion tradition celebrating the 50th anniversary of their graduation from @NorthwesternU and more than a half-century of friendship.
On behalf of their 50th Reunion class, the two penned a heartfelt message to the Class of 2024. They encouraged graduates to pause and reflect on impactful Northwestern moments they would like to remember forever and to consider how they can make a difference in the lives of others.
Edie and Kathryn look forward to returning to campus November 14–17 to celebrate their 50th Reunion.

Congratulations to Eric Stine ‘94 for his incredible work as co-producer of “The Outsiders,” which took home four #TonyAwards , including best musical on Sunday night.
Stine (left) describes the show: “The Outsiders is a vivid, visceral example of live theatre at its best; bringing to life the classic underdog story that invented a whole new literary genre and making it relevant and relatable for today’s youth. It is an absolute triumph of design, music, choreography, and performance, all seamlessly orchestrated to create an experience that reverberates with urgency and will stay with you long after you leave the theater.”
