It’s a wrap! Thank you all for being part of our exhibition and public programme, Dreams of Dreams of Dreams. Whether you joined us as an artist, contributor, writer, participant, visitor, or in any other capacity, we appreciate your involvement! Over the past three months, we have celebrated the transformative power of imagination, driven by our collective resolve to challenge the status quo. Through artistic exploration, the exhibited works and activities examined the experience of precarity as a shared condition essential for our common survival. Dreaming thus became a communal practice—a process that’s contextualized, cultivated, safeguarded, and nurtured. We hope to connect with you all again during our upcoming exhibition A Tree, stay tuned! 💥 Team 💥 Curator: Cecilia Casabona ( @pro.zaziliae ) Participating artists: Émilien Neu ( @instaneuneu ), Matilde Patuelli ( @matildepatuelli_ ), _ Maja Simišić, OOOReading Club ( @oooreading_club ), Gaia D’Arrigo ( @gaiadrr ), Mala Kline, Fede Fantini ( @fe_de_fantini ), Toni Brell ( @tonibrell ). We’re looking back at a successful edition of Horizontal Kitchen, hosted by artist @fe_de_fantini at Onomatopee on June 8. Horizontal Kitchen is a multifaceted exploration of the dining table as an informal space where stories circulate freely and the unexpected often happens. Participants were invited to bring an ingredient of their choice. Seated around the table, they got to know each other through these ingredients. Together, they prepared a meal as a shared creative act, blending different culinary traditions in new, unforeseen ways. Thank you to everyone who joined, and to Fede for facilitating this wonderful event with us! 📸 by @pro.zaziliae Horizontal Kitchen was part of the exhibition and public program “Dreams of dreams of dreams,” curated by Cecilia Casabona. Join us for a final celebration during the finissage and book launch tomorrow! 📍 Friday, June 21 19:00 Doors open 19:30 Performance by Toni Brell (@tonibrell ) 20:00 - 20:45 Book launch in the courtyard Free entrance and free drinks At Onomatopee #OMP #onomatopee #horizontalkitchen #shareddining #dreamsofdreamsofdreams #exhibition #publicprogram #eindhovencity

During the upcoming finissage and book launch of ‘Dreams of dreams of dreams’ on Friday, June 21, @tonibrell will treat us to a unique performance, titled ‘Dredged up / In the meantime’. The performance interrogates the affective textures of everyday life through sound, smell, taste, and touch. Drawing inspiration from foley techniques and ASMR practices, Brell crafts tactile soundscapes where the familiar transforms into the unfamiliar, and mundane objects resonate with eerie sounds. 📍Friday, June 21, at Onomatopee 19:00 Doors open 19:30 Performance ‘Dredged up / In the meantime’ by Toni Brell 20:00 - 20:45 Book launch in the courtyard Free entrance and free drinks! About Toni Brell Toni Brell works with sound, performance, text and their voice as tools for relation-making. Using scripted and non-scripted elements, Brell is interested in performance as a form of seduction, while creating situations in which audiences can react and relate to what they see. Brell’s art practice is rooted in theatre, emphasizing non-linear, fragmented, and multimedia narratives, alongside the exploration of gender within storytelling. Recent exhibitions and performances have taken place at Sonic Acts Biennial, HIAP, Garage Rotterdam, Fries Museum, and Kunstfort bij Vijfhuizen. Brell lives and works in Amsterdam. #OMP #onomatopee #performance #finissage #booklaunch #dreamsofdreamsofdreams #eindhovencity

Onomatopee is launching the RISO Salon, a pop-up Salon series featuring the risoprinted works of local and international artists! Our first edition is under the program theme “Folklore & Critical Research.” How to apply You email a digital image of your work as a (jpg, png or pdf, max size 5Mb) attachment to riso@onomatopee.net, using the email subject line: RISO Salon. Include the artist name, and title of the work in the body of the email. If your submission is accepted, we ask you to send us a risoprint-ready file, and we do the risoprinting of your piece in-house on Onomatopee’s risographs. What happens next? If your work gets featured in the RISO Salon, it will be available for purchase; artists get a 50% cut of each sale after cost of materials. Deadline Submissions are open from 15 - 29 June, though we will prioritize reviewing the first 100 submissions (so apply as quickly as you can!). More about the theme Folklore and Critical Research is one of the main themes Onomatopee will focus on for the next few years. Below is an outline of this concept from Onomatopee’s perspective. Artists may feel free to interpret the theme: “Can seemingly opposite realms as folklore and critical research, reinforce and complement each other? Upon closer examination, these realms share a common quest for knowledge, understanding the world, and knowledge-sharing. How can the myths, stories, and rituals from folklore shed light on the contemporary world and generate pertinent insights? What role can storytelling and symbolism play in this context, and how do they intersect with activism and care? Activism seeks to change what needs changing, while care aims to preserve what is valuable.” #opencall #callforart #illustration #graphicdesign #folklore #risograph #onomatopee

This Thursday June 13, 8-10pm OF DOGS AND DAUGHTERS with readings by Simona Koutná and Susan van Veen at 8.30pm “Of Dogs and Daughters” brings a compelling record of female artists and writers, whose voices have been documented and collected through friendships and chance encounters. While navigating mechanisms of nostalgia aimed at caregivers and children, this book explores images of closeness and attempts to redefine the mother-daughter relationship through a surrogate lens. “Of Dogs and Daughters” starts at a 1950s film studio in Prague, travels through Dodie Smith’s 1956 human-animal inversion, skips about Rome, stays a few nights in Burzanella, Bologna, then tries to follow the dots into the Walt Disney Company, where she is sold for her fur. In the 1990s, her litter now running in the thousands, the spots innumerable, she decides to go and look for her mother.

💭 INVITE | book launch and finissage Dreams - of dreams of dreams 💭 📍 Friday the 21st of June 19.00 Doors open 19.30 Performance by Toni Brell ( @tonibrell ) 20.00 - 20.45 Book launch in the courtyard Free entrance and free drinks At Onomatopee The act of dreaming is positioned delicately between the real and the unreal. It is nourished by hope and desire, but also by fear and disillusionment. Daily realities guide and narrate our dreams, but could this also work vice versa? Dreams are potent and give shape to the as yet unformed, what would arise if we started those of individuals and communities to shape a collective dream?  When we dream together, we invent new paradigms, rules, and worlds, which could have a tangible impact on the present and initiate processes of transformation on a societal level. Would a common dream be able to reshape reality and change it? This publication explores both night and day dreams, and the wish to reclaim the transformative power of imagination when it is fueled by a collective resolve to change present conditions and dismantle the status quo. The contributions of Dreams - of dreams of dreams by writers, artists, poets and dreamers are poetic and personal, as all dreams are. Through our dreams, both in sleep and the ones imagined when awake, we can equip the collective with unexpected tools and train our capacity of dreaming-in-common. Dreams - of dreams of dreams is an invitation to dream, act and radically imagine new common worlds.
