Finally posting some precious moments @ginevraarvenig and I shared around a project very important to us. A research we were able to present and share at @mediamatic_ just yesterday (thank you, it was lovely). Here some hints of what we did in ArtVerona last October as well and of when everything started to take shape in our minds, thanks to a lot of conversations, a lot of care, and some crying too. (Here also showing the very First pic ever taken together by @doideluise ) Link to website: http://www.funeralfordigitaldata.xyz/

This is an appreciation post. When the Dutch gov gives you money to make an exhibition but along the way you discover that your true vocation is driving big trucks across Europe. Thank you Stimuleringfonds to make all my Dreams come true, once again. (Just kidding, I will submitt my accountability report ASAP) & real pics of the exhibition will follow eh Special thanks goes to @sass_scimiro and @gaiadrr for physical and psyco support. I own you a big one 💞 And for those who know ALL the behind the scene, a proper T-shirt might come. Stay tuned! (Transporting in total 16 projects from NL to Milan & back featuring the following MDW24 locations: Base, Isola, Dopo? and more. All this made possible thanks to @stimuleringsfonds What a Life to be alive.)

"By designing, humans tirelessly redesign themselves - especially when it comes to matters related to death. By rethinking our relationship with death through objects, is it possible to imagine a way of redesigning human life while designing for the dead?" Still on show at Graduation Show my project "How a plant comes to plant" /Beursgebouw 19th-24th October /Come to visit us! “How a plant comes to plant” investigates how language enables dominant narratives to grow stronger and disables other realities to emerge.
The film questions the power of words in relation to our heritage and system of values through the act of comparing the origin of her name with the one given to a plant. The narration highlights our understanding of the world in the anthropocene and calls to reiterate alternative ways of living together with non-human entities. Great pics by @ivoovi95 filming and editing by @orticastudio #ddw #nonhuman #designresearch #artisticresearch #dutchdesignweek #graduationshow @designacademyeindhoven @thecriticalinquirylab

"If we are to survive the planetary-scale exhaustion that seems to be the inevitable ends of the logic of the Anthropocene, humans need to find different ways of thinking in order to develop different ways of living. Cecilia Casabona uses participatory performance methodologies to research ways of escaping traditional logics of being human. How a plant come to plant is a film made in collaboration with a plant from Tanzania, given a Latin name by a German botanist, and now a mainstay in Dutch supermarkets. The film is a meditation on how contemporary humans have become illiterate to the agency of the natural world." Text: Nadine Botha @designacademyeindhoven @thecriticalinquirylab A film made in collaboration with the great duet of Ortica Studio. @orticastudio Hello! My work will be exhibited at Graduation Show next Saturday during #ddw together with a tons of amazing projects made by really talented designers and friends. #heyddw #designacademyeindhoven @dutchdesignweek
