I had the privilege to meet our honourable Prime Minister Modi ji today. This acknowledgement is very humbling & it was my honour to present the very racket that led me to become World no. 1 and the AO grand slam champion. Your grace has left me inspired & encouraged @narendramodi
To share a little space in grandiosity like yours is an honour and very humbling. This is a hard goodbye to say.
To witness your journey of being such a respected champion in Tennis is something we will all always try to live upto and continue to be inspired by. Thank you for your courage, your grace, your grit, your sportsmanship and for the way you carried it all...

Rohan Bopanna needs no introduction as one of the most successful tennis stars on the international stage. Earlier this year, he was ranked World No. 1 in men’s doubles. He has long been considered one of India’s most popular athletes, respected by his peers for his consistency and professionalism. With just a short window between the French Open, where he reached the semi finals, and Wimbledon, which begins this week, Bopanna made a quick trip to Jaipur to play on The Court of Carpets. We hope our silk soft court will have proved excellent training for the lawns of Wimbledon. Good luck, Rohan!

At Jaipur Rugs, we aim to empower our artisans in all our projects. The storyline of The Court of Carpets film is more than fiction. Four of the players in the Jaipur Rugs Tennis Tournament are master artisans from our weaving village of Manpura, just north of Jaipur. After volunteering for the challenge, we coached our team for months by our in-house tennis pro Anshul Parekh (his day job is in our sales department with a particular knowledge of antiques). In the fifteen days before filming, the intensity of the coaching increased to daily sessions at The Pink City Tennis Academy. With the same passion and precision that our artisans approach honing their weaving skills, Annu Kumari , Payal Kumari , Lalita Kumari and Shrimati Poonam Devi mastered power serves and backhand volleys. “Humne sapne main bhi kabhi nahi socha tha ki hamaare kaam ke karan humein aise bhi mauka milega ? (Who knew our craft could open such doors?),” said Annu of the experience. Here’s to teamwork!
