We invited jmoy for the next episode of Sann Odea Syncs at Echobox Radio in anticipation of his debut release ‘Udys’ next week! The artwork by @brettclouser he chose to accompany his set gained his attention because of the contrast between outside and inside spaces, a feature and a quality that connects with his background in architecture and interest in spatial design. jmoy will record his set tomorrow live at the studio of @echoboxradio from 16:00 - 17:00 and bring an array of leftfield electronic club music which he describes as ‘somewhere between very fast and very calm’. Tomorrow we’ll present the next edition of Sann Odea Syncs at the studio of Echobox Radio with Annebel! The Tilburg-based DJ pushes the boundaries of her sound by layering harmonies and rhythms into new soundscapes when mixing her broad taste in music together into an energetic whole. With her genre-fluid approach to mixing, she merges rave, leftfield techno, UK-inspired breaks, bass, dubstep, and jungle into roused and consistent mixes. Whether it is through DJ-ing or her ongoing projects researching political internet memes, she’s always looking for little moments of friction and ambiguity. The artwork she chose by @brettclouser to accompany her set adds to this style: even though it’s unclear what’s going on at first, it still draws you in and amazes you. The last time we were at the studio of Echobox Radio, Amsterdam-based Max Frimout came down to treat us with imposing ambient soundscapes for our bi-monthly show ‘Sann Odea Syncs’. Staying true to the Echobox Slogan, Max sank deep below sea level with a variety of sounds including deep sea recordings that he modified live with his effects. The master of sound combined this with a sharp contrast in rumbling low end and clear snaps and cracks, hinting to his artwork pick by Brett Clouser. Goodbye 2023 We reflect with pride on a year marked by great projects and collaborative ventures. The release of our first Various Artists LP ‘Ithomiines’ this summer showcased the talent of our favorite producers and was celebrated at the beloved Garage Noord. In anticipation of this, Future Intel trusted us with curating a day’s program. Just a month ago, NAKANO BLU released his impressive ‘Sentadona’ EP, a collection of club bangers that we still can’t get enough from. Additionally, 2023 marked the start of our residency at Echobox Radio, where we host the bi-monthly show ‘Sann Odea Syncs,’ inviting artists to synchronize music with art.
