🌸 Presenting our 2024 Festival Season Poster featuring “Through the Flower, 1973”, by critically acclaimed feminist artist, Judy Chicago. 🌸
Currently based in New Mexico, Chicago’s career spans almost six decades during which time she has produced a prodigious body of art that has been exhibited all over the world. “Through the Flower” represents the beginning of Chicago’s feminist era and her endeavors into more accessible imagery. The piece is part of a series called Great Ladies, which led to the research that inspired her best-known and most monumental work, “The Dinner Party,” a symbolic history of women in Western Civilization executed between 1974-79 and permanently housed at the Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art at the Brooklyn Museum.
