———————————————————— THE USA EDUCATION SYSTEM is FAILING CHILDREN GIFTED IN ART! 1 ) In KINDERGARTEN, EDUCATORS SHOULD IDENTIFY ART GIFTED CHILDREN or those with potential)& gather them together to do ADVANCED ART.(If Art Gifted are blended with other classmates, they don’t want to stand out) 2 ) YEARLY, EDUCATORS should submit to the DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION ART-GIFTED PROGRAM, a list of Art Gifted Students(& a copy of their Art) so this dept can approve-establish a GIFTED ART STUDIO WITHIN THEIR PARK DISTRICT. Perform a yearly exhibition. 3) ALSO; GIFTED SCIENCE & ART SCHOOLS: A) SHOULD IMPLEMENT an ADVANCED VISUAL ART PROGRAM: Adv. Drawing, Painting & techniques, Sculpting .. and B) SHOULD IMPROVE FINANCIAL AID PROGRAM TO MIDDLE CLASS CHILDREN. (A family of 4 with 1 income & School-Sports-Home expenses cannot afford this type of school with the current financial aid option, so only Affluent & Lower income Children benefit from Gifted schools. (TALENTED MIDDLE CLASS CHILDREN ARE LEFT BEHIND!!!!) In my experience, I give an ‘F’ in ART to the US Dept of EDUCATION for LEAVING ART GIFTED CHILDREN BEHIND with no Advanced education in Visual ART. The educational system is lacking visual advance art education for gifted children. If there's advanced math(COC) then let's do this for Art: Visual Art... I'm advocating FOR ADVANCED Visual Art Program starting in Elementary: Kindergarten. SEL is always in action at SAA! Last week, students learned strategies to argue respectfully. They also learned about aggressive versus assertive communication styles. Today, put their knowledge to the test with Escalation and Deescalation staircases! 🙌 . After modeling and doing a staircase together, students worked in small groups.
