𝘼 𝘿𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙮 𝘼𝙘𝙩 - exercises for the everyday, from the everyday
What (or where) is the “public” in public art? Is it the people, shared spaces, or both? Does the notion of the “private” exist in public art? Can public art infiltrate the private spheres of individuals? Can it be privately experienced?
𝘈 𝘋𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘺 𝘈𝘤𝘵 attempts to find beauty in the mundane by encouraging participants to explore and engage more closely with their everyday routines. Instructions distributed across Tanjong Pagar invite closer interactions with their environments, immediate objects, or each other. They may walk past them on their way to the train station, or pause to observe a postcard while enjoying their coffee. Perceptions shift, senses heighten and actions become more deliberate, allowing the quiet poetry of our surroundings that is rooted in the active participation of the public to come to the fore.
Can the banal become remarkable?

Take a glimpse into the things that the forest sees.
Titled 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘖𝘸𝘭, 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘋𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯, the central work in Seeing Forest at the Singapore Pavilion of @labiennale is a large-scale, two-channel video installation that unfolds in ten captivating scenes, featuring moments captured during artist Robert Zhao Renhui’s (@robert_zhao ) visits to the forest.
Within this landscape, watch the shifting narrative of two travellers making their way through the forest, highlighting the intersections between the human and natural world, and prompting us to reimagine the forest as a mutable space of possibility and coexistence.
