Some voices - Where Prof. Almerico de Angelis writes in his eassy, “Satyendra Pakhalé: the power of poetry” - At a time in which design is increasingly successful and society is undergoing notable change, a design exhibition inevitably provides an opportunity for reflection on the future of the discipline. Over the last ten years, design has acquired a central role and gravity such as to modify, if not its very nature, at least the relationships between the various forces involved, and its underlying structure. And so we are faced with the question: design, quo vadis?
Alceo Serafini - Satyendra’s work gives the impression of moving into realm of symbolism with fundamental shapes which are saturated with cultures, arts and civilisation. For a person whose tastes are no longer circumscribed by one limited tradition, but whose taste is formed an eclectic memory of fragments of different traditions, territories and cultures, all of which are held in their many diversities, wholeness and densities.
As the great Vittorio Magnago Lampugnani, put it: „To design means, in the broadest sense of the term, to shape the world in such a way as is better suited to the necessities of man’s life.“
The refreshing difference which can be found in Satyendra’s designs lies indeed in the forms he chooses, for his way of creation is not merely subjective, rather it is the sublimation of the culture in which he belongs. The resulting design language is beautiful to look at, stimulating, and easy to interpret. In this way he gives to us a new identity that of belonging to all the people of the world.
