32 years ago today, USS George Washington (CVN 73) was commissioned in Norfolk, VA. Today, George Washington is deployed as part of Southern Seas 2024 which seeks to enhance capability, improve interoperability, and strengthen maritime partnerships with countries throughout the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility through joint, multinational, and interagency exchanges and cooperation.

Activities this week are looking a little like:
1️⃣ U.S. Marines partnering with Peruvian Marines during joint training in urban warfare and obstacle crossing to maintain fluidity, maneuverability and aggressiveness in combat situations.
2️⃣ U.S. Marines conducting a patrol base operation exercise alongside members of the Malaysian Armed Forces.
3️⃣ A Canadian Sailor performing a medical emergency rescue exercise during a routine dive and hull inspection of HMCS Vancouver.
