We are pleased to announce a presentation at
@futurefairs 2024 showcasing the work of
@vadisturner and
@alanpraz . Both artists have been with the gallery since its early years and it has been an honor to have worked with them for so long and to see their work develop and deepen.
Vadis Turner is interested in systems of power and feminine myths and this plays out in her work; she uses a variety of materials; some overtly domestic, like the curtains from her childhood bedroom and some more traditionally associated with exteriors, such as concrete and steel. Her vessels continue this exploration of myth on a smaller scale; they are fragile looking but are made of steel and shimmering with gold leaf.
Alan Prazniak’s paintings are loosely centered on landscape and place; his use of color and paint application create luminous and subtle work. He is inspired by his travels throughout the United States, although he almost always finishes the work in his Sunset Park studio.
