Daniel Kim ’20 discovers a career inspired by his life experiences through Northwestern’s Chicago Field Studies (CFS)
CFS an academic internship program at Northwestern that matches over 500 students every year with over 250 employer partners. CFS participants receive guidance on choosing internships based on their passions and values, navigating applying interviewing, and succeeding in the professional world.

A group of Northwestern University undergraduates participating in the Chicago Field Studies (CFS) program attended an event at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs titled "Rising Voices, Lasting Impact: Meet Global Next Gen Changemakers." CFS combines an internship with an experiential learning class.
The Council President, Sarah Gilbert, welcomed the group and took a picture with them on the stage that has hosted many global leaders. The visit was organized by Assistant Professor of Instruction Nina Wieda, who, as an alum of the Council's Emerging Leaders program, helps students build connections to the broader Chicago community of young leaders.

In focus: Physics grad student Imran Sultan wins global photography competition 📸 🌌
Sultan’s work is no easy feat, considering that the subject matter can be thousands of light-years away. His photos recently received two awards in the 2023 @theroyalsociety Publishing Photography Competition’s astronomy category.
“I love sharing the wonders of our universe with others through my astrophotography,” says Sultan.
The winning image (photo 1) shows the colorful Western Veil Nebula. Runner-up (photo 2) is an image of the May full moon, known as the Flower Moon, through the clouds above Chicago.

Northwestern student Nia Robles Del Pino has been named a 2024 Global Rhodes Scholar. 🎉
As the first Argentinian to receive the honor, the @weinbergcollege senior plans to study mathematical physics at the @oxford_uni .
"From her first-year research about indigenous Chicago to her senior thesis testing theories of supergravity, Nia’s voracious intellect integrates across traditional divides among disciplines and identities," said Elizabeth Lewis Pardoe, director of @nufellowships .
