whywhynot has a makers space. Well, it’s more of a collection of tools that have been begged, borrowed, and stol..gifted to us, allowing us to materialize a lot of fun projects. One of these projects are custom loud speakers built by @felix_just_felix and @nickmmeares with some help from @wlflouisa that are meant to be seen as well as heard.
These speakers combine a lot of what we like about making. Some woodworking and the 3D printed horn, some sound alchemy and a object that builds community through music.

For Milan Design Week 2024 we continued working on the project ‘Pressing Matters’, this time finding the form of a functional outdoor shower in the exhibition ‘The Dutch Embassy of Living’ curated by @pro.zaziliae at @dopo.space . Along with other installations and objects our shower addressed the housing crisis and dwelling displacement happening in Milan and Europe. This culminated in an intervention using experimental printing techniques on recovered objects found throughout the city of Rotterdam.
If you are in Rotterdam this weekend check out our large hanging at Keilewerf 2. We spent a month collecting objects left on the street, and squeezed them through a press to create a visual ‘map’ of Rotterdams waste.

We did a collaboration with @monk_rotterdam and will be having a launch party this coming Thursday at @monk_rotterdam . @hannahkansy and @juliaurrea from the collective made the illustrations with a climbing theme, available as a tee shirt, a cap and tote bag. WWN’s resident djs @flam_schlange will be playing some tunes! Come along, buy some merch and have a dance.
This Saturday 22nd of April whywhynot is opening their doors for the Kroonfest (from 13:00-18:00) @dekroonrotterdam . Why not come by to pick up a freshly Riso printed poster or to have a chat.
