My Instagram is getting another subject! In addition to opera, my niece and nephew, and Beyoncé, I’m now adding my sweet new toy schnauzer to the roster. Say hi to Kiko! 🐶❤️ (the plastic is not coming off the sofa though)
ORFEO opens at @santafeopera next week and it’s got me thinking deeply about music’s ability to connect us to nature — not only nature as environment but also our inner nature. Music seems to thrive in that liminal space between inside and outside natures, and at that intersection is pure generosity. I’m grateful to all the artists involved in this project for modeling that generosity each and every rehearsal ❤️
Thank you @operaphila for the love and care in bringing this Bohème back after @detroitopera@spoletofestivalusa@bostonlyricopera — playing this piece to a hugely enthusiastic and full house was a rewarding end to this production’s journey. I got to experience first hand how @ddevan has built a totally integrated company, with audiences, supporters, artists, administrators, and production team enthusiastically moving in the same direction.
