Last week was a thrill! Overton Park Conservancy, the Memphis Zoo, Brooks Museum of Art, and Overton Park Shell welcomed an enthusiastic group from Carpenter Art Garden for a summer camp in the park. Students explored the Old Forest with the Conservancy, engaged with keepers at the Zoo, wrote and recorded music at the Shell, and designed clothing and self-portraits at Brooks Museum. We all had a wonderful time exploring everything the park has to offer, and seeing what the students observed given the rich artistic background Carpenter Art Garden has given them. 🎨
