Does that mean I don’t get to call him my newborn anymore? 🥲 Crix is so much fun. He is towheaded and fair skinned and much more social than his sissy, polar opposites in every way those two. He is a big big boy, and feels more like a 6 month old than a 3 month old. He is super long and still pretty lanky but seems to be gaining lots of weight. He sleeps through the night and loves to snuggle. He is a sweetheart and doesn’t make much of a fuss anymore, but when he gets mad, he gets MAD and has got some pipes! He has smiles for everyone who wants to chat with him, but especially his big sis. Watching him grow is the most bittersweet thing in the world and I couldn’t love him more 🤎
Crix received the sweetest blessing from his dad today surrounded by lots of loved ones. His great grandpa Lynn made him the cutest, tiniest belt for his special day. We are so grateful for our little guy, and so lucky to have the support of so many!
Crix is 2 months old!
Our little man is starting to have quite the personality. His smiles are contagious and I could just talk to him all day! He loves to lay on the floor and kick his long little legs while someone visits with him. He is still a really great sleeper and only wakes up once (around 4:30 AM 🤪). He is starting to fatten up and I can’t wait to see what those rolls look like in a month! He’s in 3-6 month clothes and growing FAST. We figured out he has acid reflux and have got the belly aches and spitting up under control for the most part, but he still has a bad day every once in a while. He is a pretty chill baby for the most part and even seemed to enjoy his first couple of hikes with mom and dad. He has his dads super blue eyes, and photos just don’t do them justice. He’s lost a little bit of his hair and the new hair coming in seems pretty blonde so we may end up with a little towhead on our hands! It looks especially white when he’s in the sunlight. As much as I want time to slow down, I love watching him grow and learn. We love this little guy so much.
Came across this picture from Crix’s birth and couldn’t stop crying. What a perfect depiction of motherhood! I am so so glad I was able to have these two special women and my amazing sister (behind the camera) in the delivery room with me and Brenon. Undergoing an unplanned natural birth with no prior birthing techniques was truly unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. I had a friend refer to it yesterday as “an outer body experience” and that truly hits the nail right on the head. I have never felt so scared and without control.
My most vivid memory is lying there, waiting for the doctor to lay my new baby on my chest, and just staring at the ceiling in utter shock of what I had just experienced. I couldn’t really focus on much of anything, but I vividly remember hearing my sweet mother’s sobs and feel her squeezing my hand, and for a moment my only thought was “I can’t imagine how absolutely terrifying that must have been for my mom.—to see your child in so much pain and repeatedly saying ‘I can’t do this’”.
Looking back, this whole experience was the perfect symbolism of motherhood. Watching your children navigate life and it’s experiences and just holding their hand and praying they make it out unscathed. All to watch them have children of their own and start all over again. Motherhood truly is the scariest, most beautiful thing I’ve ever experienced and getting to love my two babies truly is the joy of my life.

Not sure how we’re only a month in and I’m already slacking on the milestone posts 😉
Crix is the snuggliest little guy. He is happiest when he is sleeping, which is how we spend most of our time lately. He usually only wakes up once in the night, sometimes twice. Mom and dad are grateful for the good sleep and don’t take it for granted! He hates a binky which means he spends an extra lot of time wanting mom. He gets some pretty mean tummy aches that we’re hoping we can figure out soon. Crix is super strong and loves to show off by holding his head up on his own and trying to stand up while we burp him. He has gained almost 3 lbs since birth and its starting to show in his cute little thighs and cheeks. This boy is LONG. He barely fits in 0-3 month clothes and growing like a weed. We are all pretty smitten with this sweet boy and big sister is absolutely infatuated!
