Me and the @fandueltv crew are taking votes on if my (cute!) jumpsuit looked more like scrubs or if I’m ready to change your tire. 💁🏽♀️ But who cares because it’s DERBY WEEK! Two days down! Three more fun ones ahead!

One month out from our wedding, when I was supposed to be in Birmingham customizing the last details of my wedding gown, Surprise! Emergency surgery instead 🙃 I questioned sharing this but many of you have noticed something’s up and I figured hey… sharing life’s highs and low is what this platform is all about. I believe in being real. So I want to thank those of you who have been praying and are in my corner. Because of your prayers … I’m ok!
Long story alert: I had some very asymmetrical and non-constant abdominal swelling… but I knew many girls have cysts on their ovaries without even knowing it. So on June 6 I got an ultrasound to be sure. The nurse practitioner seemed uneasy to inform me that my ovary was very, very, enlarged. She mentioned some “shadowing, horizontal lines, and blood flow”… I instantly had PTSD from sitting beside my dad as he was told the same words… (he passed of pancreatic cancer). She said my ovary was about 5”x4x3.5” (the size of Dr. Guiler’s hands in the pic!) When a normal ovary is 3cm. Tod was with me and immediately was praying holding on to me as I kept trying to find the words to ask questions. So we of course immediately started praying and asked anyone else to do the same.
On Friday, those prayers were answered! The bloodwork came back negative for cancer markings! This was HUGE. (Tod was so sweet…. I had to ask him to quiet down during that call because he was thrilled and praising so loud that I couldn’t hear the doctor haha). I felt the high of the clear blood work, but was yanked right back down as she said they still wanted me to see an oncologist just to be sure. Even stepping into one of those offices made me sick with PTSD. They said it’s a specific, very rapidly growing cyst unlike typical cysts and would likely cause removal of the whole ovary. Surgery right before your wedding is never welcomed, but even more so when it comes to removing family creating organs 🙃….
