St. Thomas, also known as "Doubting Thomas," was not with the apostles when Jesus first appeared to them in the Upper Room. Incredulous about Jesus' Resurrection, he proclaimed he would not believe unless he could touch Jesus' wounds.
When St. Thomas finally saw Jesus, he uttered, "My Lord and my God!"
During Mass this week, let us remember St. Thomas' words as Father lifts the Eucharist and offers them as a silent prayer:
My Lord and my God, have mercy on me, a sinner.
I do believe. Lord, help my unbelief.

We may be deep in Ordinary Time, but July is filled with extraordinary saints from St. Junípero Serra to the Blessed Virgin Mary's parents. Take a moment to discover who is accompanying you this month!
St. Junípero Serra is known as the "father of the California missions." Serra personally founded nine of the missions and envisioned a trail connecting all 21 missions as a "holy ladder" 700 miles from San Diego to Sonoma.
Conference 4: Abandonment to Jesus
Our parish is entering into a Year of Eucharistic Love. Go on Summer Retreat with us, at your own pace, as we discuss "I Believe in Love” by Fr. Jean C. J. d’Elbee. Without love, or at least a desire to love, the Eucharist is simply a host and Jesus is simply an idea.
This book, based on the teachings of St. Therese of Lisieux, will “help you to focus on Him throughout each day, rest in Him amid your troubles, and live joyfully with Him at every moment!”
Episodes are released every Monday!
Parishioners can purchase books at a discounted rate of $10 through the parish office by cash or check, or online using the link in our bio (books still must be picked up in the office).
To have a child baptized at St. John the Baptist, you need to be registered in the parish, regularly attend Mass, and complete one of the available options of baptism preparation. If you have already completed baptism preparation, you need not repeat the process. All materials needed will be provided, as well as a boxed lunch for attendees. Today’s scripture passage is another example of faith. Jairus was a synagogue official who knew Jesus could save and heal his sick daughter. Putting aside his social status in the community and the obstacles he could face, he invites Jesus into his home. As Our Lord arrives, he states that the child is only sleeping. Jesus uses this term to show that the young girl’s condition is temporary and can be reversed.
According to St. Bede the Venerable, Jairus’ daughter symbolizes the corrupt heart of the young Christian affected by the world. To strengthen the heart that has been corrupted, Christ pushes away all the temptations and clears a path so good deeds can return. The Eucharist is the spiritual food that will jumpstart this process.
