Since I was a kid, I’ve lived to share music with people. I was thrilled to share our fourth @rattleshakerecs release yesterday and am sincerely grateful to anyone who streamed it, pre-ordered the record, watched the video, or shared the tune, etc. I hope y’all enjoy “Snake Oil.” 🤘🏻
Well, this is a dream come true for me. I’d like to shout out all of you who have showed up to Shakedown shows with your “Pinky” inspired Strats over the years & posted photos with them. I had a folder on my phone labeled “PINK STRATS FOR EVERYONE” that I kept adding each one to, thinking that maybe this dream of mine could one day become reality. Eventually, I shared the folder with the good folks at @fender and after years of working towards this, they gave me a signature model with the @fendercustomshop . Y’all had just as much to do with this as me, and it’s not lost on me how lucky I am to have the support of so many music lovers.
A little backstory on this instrument… My original pink Strat was stolen while we were touring the ‘Wild Child’ album. We had shows to play and I was without my main tool. My parents, who both worked two jobs to support our family while I was growing up, pulled together to buy me the guitar that this signature model is based off of. This guitar signifies sacrifice, hard work, perseverance, and so much more to me. This instrument has given me the opportunity to connect with people all over the world. It has helped me turn my ideas into records that will outlive me. It inspires me everyday and I hope this story will inspire some of you young players out there to really go for the things you think might be out of reach... Again, thank y’all for the support, for the kind birthday wishes, and for sharing in the joy of this with me.
Today would’ve been Jeff Beck’s 80th birthday. The time I got to spend with him was life changing for me. I can only imagine how awkward and weird I was to have around when we first met, due to how I idolized him, but he shared his stage with me regardless and treated me like I belonged there. He was my friend and I loved him as much as a human as I did an artist. He was simply the greatest person to be around and I miss him all the time. Love ya, Jeff. I’m celebrating you from here. ❤️
I’m on a cloud from getting to play two of my favorite Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers tunes with two of my favorite Heartbreakers tonight. @mikecampbellofficial and the Dirty Knobs played such a great show. To stand in front of @steve_ferrone ’s kit and Mike’s amps and feel the power that’s driven one of my favorite bands for so long was too cool to describe. @larkinpoe also delivered and mind melting set and I’m a new fan of @thebonesofjrjones . Can’t wait to play the @mississippiriverfestival tomorrow. 🤘🏻
