quite a few people in my life have complimented me on my perceived confidence or strength. truthfully, I've learned to perform those characteristics because of how scary it is to be a visible trans woman of color in the world. & that's not to say I'm never confident or strong, but that I often don't feel safe to project less than that in a world where my trans siblings get hurt & killed every day for being VISIBLE. so while you celebrate us for our strength and visibility, make sure you're contributing to trans safety and success💓
