In a 5-4 decision issued Thursday, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled to temporarily block key air pollution regulations established by the Environmental Protection Agency’s Good Neighbor Plan. Ohio and several other states challenged the regulations in court. The Supreme Court decision means upwind states, like Ohio, aren’t required to reduce harmful ozone emissions that move across state lines. -click the link in our bio for more

Housing prices in Ohio are rising faster than wages for the state's most common jobs, a report released Thursday says. The study by The Coalition on Homelessness and Housing Ohio and the National Low Income Housing Coalition (COHHIO) suggests eight of Ohio's 10 most common jobs pay less than the $20 per hour it costs to rent the average two-bedroom apartment. Some areas cost even more. In Cincinnati, it takes a full-time job making about $23 per hour to afford a two-bedroom apartment. In Columbus, the wage is $25 per hour. -click the link in our bio for more

A school field trip to Washington, D.C. is a formative rite of passage shared by many U.S. school students across the nation. Often, these are framed as “field trips.” Students may visit the White House, the U.S. Capitol Building, the Supreme Court, the Library of Congress, Declaration of Independence (housed in the National Archive), the National Museum of the American Indian, the National Museum of African American History and Culture, the Jefferson Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, or the Smithsonian Museum – among others. For many students, this is the first time they will connect the histories of their textbooks to items, artifacts, and buildings that they can see and feel. -click the link in our bio for more

If you know a member-in-good-standing of Cincinnati’s Charter Committee today, thank them and wish them a happy 100th birthday. Not so much for what they are doing today, but for what their predecessors did 100 years ago. -click the link in our bio for more
