I’m thrilled to say “Always, Sometimes” is out! 😎✌🏻✔️💪🏻
I made this record during the pandemic, it was the bright spot in my life while the world was shut down. It’s taken me a while to release the album because the past couple of years has come with a lot of hardship. Now after some time working on myself and getting healthier physically and mentally, I’m ready to let it out in the world. So I’m handing it over to you, let it be your companion while you’re making dinner or going for a drive. I hope it can be a soundtrack for a season of your life. Thanks for sticking it out with me. Cheers!
Always, Sometimes comes out this Friday!
I was writing these songs around the 10 year anniversary of my fathers passing. So I explored the legacy he left me. Finding the good in our broken story.
I also explore some other themes of acceptance, letting go, and the struggle of staying present in a few other songs.
Sonically, I was inspired by artists such as Andy Shauf, Tame Impala, Bahamas, and Haim. It was a very therapeutic experience creating it, and I can’t wait to share it with you. Much love!
Always love making music with my buddy @gentrymorris and the team at @restonchurchmusic . What a fun week creating! Headed back home to Nashville today. 😎😎
After spending last week in Ireland, my perspective on St. Patrick’s day looks a little different.
Today feels more reverent than previous years. I spent time in St Patrick’s Cathedral in Dublin and felt the spirit in an intimate way. I went to his gravesite at Downpatrick where he is buried and learned the history of how impactful he was for the country of Ireland.
I used to get a mediocre Guinness or some green colored beer and wear something green and saw the day more as reason to party. But today I’m in awe of his mission and the legacy he left behind, and the hardship he went through being a prisoner and escaping. I have a lot to learn still, but I’m grateful I was able to actually hear the creeks in the pews of his cathedral and to see the stone where he was buried where it now just says “patr” cause the stone is decaying. It makes him more real. An actual human that did a lot of good.
Happy St. Patrick’s day!
