The Shaggs don’t specifically sing about the incarnation of Jesus in “We Have a Savior”, but this song is as close to a Christmas song as we’ll get from the Shaggs. Thank you: Joe Lonetti on drums and Cooper Doten on bass and Mike Post at MooseCatrecording for mixing Repetitive in structure with four verses, four choruses, and two bridges in an odd way Thos simple and childlike song is an unexpected yet meaningful representation of the steadfast enduring work of Jesus Christ and the simple message of the gospel. Thanks for listening. #theshaggs #theshaggsforever #andrewcoverstheshaggs #wehaveasavior #cooperDoten #joelonetti

Thanks to the French music site vibevault.live I got to write a bit more reflecting on many things— including more thoughts on The Shaggs’ song “What Should I Do?” link in bio Photo by @peterjamus

“What Should I Do?” is a gut wrenching song by The Shaggs. On the surface level it is a song about a teenage girl contemplating her relationship with a boy that seemed to be an unredeemable person. However, as I was working on the song it took on a new meaning to me in how we all ask the question “what should I do?” in addressing how we grapple with loving and forgiving people even after they do us wrong. A big thanks to Toby Ramaswamy, Maddie Thies, and Mike Noyce for all the time and work they put into this passion project of mine. And thank YOU for listening! I have another one of these coming soon… #theshaggs #theshaggsphilosophyoftheworld #theshaggsforever #andrewcoverstheshaggs @tobyramaswamy @bassheavii @vincentvognar (mix)

The cover of The Shaggs’ “What should I do?” is out now on YouTube! If you don’t know who The Shaggs are, look them up! Like all of the covers I’ve done so far, this was made in collaboration with other musicians. This one highlights the artful work of Minneapolis musicians who I have wanted to work on one of these covers for long time—Toby Ramaswamy on drums, Maddie Thies on bass, and Mike Noyce on the mix. This song marks the halfway point of this project I started in 2019 being the sixth of twelve songs I’ve covered off of The Shaggs’ seminal album, Philosophy of the World. I hope you enjoy it! Thank you for your time and support of this ongoing passion project. 🙏🏼 @bassheavii @tobyramaswamy @vincentvognar

“What should I do?” I started working on covering this gut wrenching song by the Shaggs back in 2021 and I’m happy to announce that I’m finally releasing it next week on my YouTube channel. Head there if you want to see it when it comes out as I will be sharing it there first early next week. This my sixth cover of the Shaggs music features the incredible writing and playing of @tobyramaswamy on drums and @bassheavii on bass and vocals. 🙏🏼

So if you’re the type of person that likes listening to interviews and/or would like to know a little more about the process of making our last EP and this new project, this is for you. Link in bio.
