Anna (@existomatic ) put both her hypnotic voice and her Forest Conservation Science degree to good use reading @dr_kazzie ’s story about the future of forests as carbon sinks. You can now watch and listen as Anna takes you on a meditative journey through the science of forest ecology, backed by Beams songs “We Are Blood” and “The Thing Is” from their aptly titled album Requiem for a Planet.
“Currently, trees and plants together absorb roughly 30 percent of the carbon dioxide humans cough into the atmosphere through industry and activity each year,” says science writer Elena Kazamia. “But trees’ carbon storage capacity is under threat as the Earth continues to warm.”
