#1 by Lisa Ledson has layers all its own blended into the shimmering gold. As it moves light dances off it causing some parts to vanish while others appear. (This video doesn’t do it justice.) There is also the way it picks up reflections and incorporates them into the experience... ever changing as light and shadow morph throughout the day. This piece needed to be in a space where it could both feed off all those elements AND be experienced near and far, in motion and and in stillness. Within hours this was telling its story… and that inspired some music which I hope captured the shimmering of gold underwater and the play of bubbles from scuba tanks. I tried to capture the quiet feeling of being underwater in a secluded space and the sense of magic in this work.
