This was a great experience, I was glad to hear her stories and May was super nice to talk to. She’ll be at Gallery 42 in Mason, of all places, at the end of the month with pictures she took of John Lennon and their time together.
The KISS Off fundraiser for Southgate House was a great time Saturday. Had to do it solo and went up after a full band in makeup and costume like going on after KISS. Broke a string the end of the first song and a crew jumped in. Ended up being a swell time! Thanks to Tina for putting it together and singing backup, Marty Bates, Ron Moses (Peter Criss) and everybody who hopped in and made it a great time and to some of my bestfriends who came to hangout and took these pictures and for the support.
I interviewed Ricky Skaggs and got to hear a story about a King session Ralph Stanley told him and all kinds of Cincinnati music history along with tons of other stuff. Pretty interesting
One of the highlights of the year, even if I accidentally misspelled William S. Burroughs as “Willaim” and nobody noticed it. Super interesting guy to talk to. Last picture is from when I met John Waters at my old job in 2018 or so when he made an appearance.
I don’t post much or forget to and even have mixed feelings on sharing things online but I talked to @paulstanleylive today for an article I’m putting together and not only that, but talked for 27 minutes. He was super nice, talked about records, influences, New York, songwriting, forming the ideas behind the band, significance of rock and roll, work ethic, keeping going, what it all has meant and more. Not sure it could have gone better. What a surreal, amazing day. If you know me at all, you know how significant this one is. Pretty great see it happen. For the Oct. 4 issue of @citybeatcincy .
