it’s surreal to have an instructional video published online by @premierguitar . I remember reading Premier Guitar as a teenager and learning from incredible guitarists through this publication. this is a dream come true. my life’s calling & life’s work is to help people understand the nature of the guitar and learn how to speak the language of music on this instrument. I’m eternally grateful for this opportunity. 🫶🏻 link in bio for full video. #premierguitar #cagedsystem #guitarlessons #guitarteacher #learnguitar #guitarplayer #guitarist

for the past few months I have been working on a new project. something I’ve kept very quiet. I know my purpose in life is to help others in their guitar learning journey, and I have been spending near every waking moment taking that to the next level. I cannot wait to share with you all…soon enough. in the meantime, I wanted to capture what it’s really like in my teaching studio. whether a guitar player has learned from me by taking a 1:1 Zoom lesson, sat in one of my virtual masterclasses, or just learned something new by scrolling through my instagram posts…I want everyone to be able to see the place where all of it happens. this is my sanctuary (dog included). in this sanctuary you’ll find me day in & day out, doing what I love. the guitar is and always will be my first love. I’m honored to be able to share that with the world. thank you @isadorasamadello for capturing these moments in my studio. #guitarinstructor #guitarlessons #guitarist #guitarra #studio #femaleguitarist #guitarlove

The easiest B Minor chord you’ll ever play! If you’ve ever wanted to play a Bm chord without a barre…try this: - Index on 2nd fret of the A String - Middle on 2nd fret of the G String - Ring on 3rd fret of the B String - D & High E Strings are left open - Strum A String down or mute Low E String with thumb and strum through all the strings Now technically this Bm voicing includes an A (7th) and an E above the octave (11th) and it is missing the F# (5th)… BUT it still functions like a normal Bm. For example: if you played this Bm in the key of D it will still function as the minor vi chord. #guitarlessons #learnguitar #playguitar #guitarchords #guitarteacher

I guess I’ll have to start watching Love Is Blind or something…😭 but seriously…Lacrimosa of Mozart’s Requiem is one of the greatest pieces ever composed, and the legend surrounding it makes it even more exciting. start listening to classical music. start studying classical music. open your heart up to it. there’s nothing like it. I’ll be back with guitar teaching content tomorrow…but had to take today to pay respects to Mozart. 🖤🥀 #classicalguitar #guitarist #guitarra #mozart #amadeus

THE GOAL: navigating the fretboard becomes as comfortable to you as walking around your own house. 🏠 🎸 That’s when you’ve made the fretboard YOUR HOME. The CAGED System and CAGED Blueprint can help make that happen. Want to learn more about the CAGED System and take your fretboard navigation and guitar playing to the next level? Book a 1:1 lesson with me! Comment “TEACH ME” and I’ll send you a link with info. #guitarplayer #guitarlessons #guitarteacher #learnguitar #guitarra

Play all the chords in the Key of A by only using 2 fingers! These 2 finger chords are built from the E shape, but I’m only fretting the D & G strings (which are the root & 3rd of the chord). The other strings can be left open. You can play all of your major & minor diatonic chords in the Key of A across the fretboard of the guitar using this 2 finger method. Now technically some of these voicings include notes outside of just the 1 3 5 chord tones, but the chords will still function correctly in the Key of A. #guitarlessons #guitarteacher #learnguitar #chords

Tired of power chords? Try this! Instead of playing a root & 5th (power chord) play a root & 3rd. This will add more dimension & color while still only using 2 strings. You can even create a minor version by flatting the 3rd. You can use these thirds anytime a song calls for power chords! #powerchords #guitarlesson #guitarinstructor #guitarteacher #chords #learnguitar #electricguitar

Here’s a quick tip to play the Major Blues Scale! Plugging into my new @voxamplification Superbeetle really made want to play the blues. So I thought it would be fun to share a blues lesson played through this beautiful amp. How to play the Major Blues Scale in 3 Steps: 1. Play the Major Pentatonic Scale in any key & any shape/box (I’m using the C Major Pentatonic Scale in the G Shape box). 2. Find the b3 of the key. In the key of C Major the b3 is Eb. This is the “Blue Note” of the key. 3. Play the Major Pentatonic Scale box again, but this time with the b3s added in. This is now your Major Blues Scale! Have fun using this to improvise over your favorite blues tunes! #voxamps #voxamplification #guitartok #guitarlessons #blues

CAGED Shape Barre Chord in 3 Steps: In this video I’m using the C Shape as the example. 1. Reposition fingers of fretting hand so the index finger is free (the index finger will become the barre). 2. Move the fingers/shape up 1 fret. 3. Place the index finger barre down on the 1st fret. This is now your moveable CAGED Shape barre chord. You can also do this with the other CAGED Shapes! Understanding these movable CAGED Shapes across the fretboard will allow you the navigate the fretboard better as well as give you so many options of forming chord voicings. Happy practicing! #guitarlessons #guitarplayer #guitarteacher #learnguitar

Here’s another beautiful way of playing chords in the Key of G! You can use the A Shape for ALL of the chords in the Key of G across the fretboard of the guitar. Simply use the A Shape barre chord, but only fret the A D & B strings. The G & high E strings will be left open. Now technically some of these voicings contain notes outside of the 1 3 5 of each chord, but they still allow the chord to have the same “function” in the key. If you want to add more texture, dimension, and color to your guitar playing this open version of the A Shape is the way to go. Give this a try the next time you’re playing in the Key of G, and let me know how you like it! #learnguitar #chords #guitarplayer #femaleguitarist

PRO TIP: When playing lead guitar, view your guitar as the “vocalist”. Having this mindset will help you add improvisatory lines in appropriate spaces, and it will allow you to play lead guitar from a posture of confidence & authority. This is a clip from a recent 1:1 Zoom lesson with @samhaddadxr . Sam is moving into the role of lead guitarist in his band, and has shown great improvement this year! Want 1:1 Zoom lessons with me?
